Using your wine thief is a very simple process:
Step 1: Clean and sanitize your wine thief. As always, it is of the utmost importance to clean anything that will touch your wine or beer.
Step 2: Dip your wine thief into the container holding your wine or sour beer, and extract the amount of wine or beer you need for your test
Step 3: Test your wine or beer - gravity or pH reading or sample tasting
Step 4: Return the remaining wine or beer back into the rest of the batch in the barrel, demijohn or carboy (if appropriate).
