These 100L Oak Barrels are a unique and rare barrel style. Hard to find and get we are prileged to offer a
Prior to holding the finest award winning Australian Whisky these 100L Barrels held Fortified Wine (Port) for many years. Rich and deep flavours of fortified wine and whisky overlap and envelop the senses and bring enormous opportunity to mind for the adventurours brewer and/or distiller.
This parcel of casks are ex-port and ex-sherry noted by wither a ‘P’ or ‘S’ on the head of the cask. They are coopered by either South Australian Cooperage or Tasmanian Cask Company using a long toast and quick charr. Lark then matured whisky in them once.

These barrels have spent the most recent part of their life housing premium Single Malt Australian Whisky. The logos may or may not be shaved from the barrels prior to shipping and under no circumstances are customers allowed to leverage or use the former distillers name in the marketing of their own beverages should you be a commercial brewer or distiller who is keen to use these barrels for commercial spirits or beer. By all means you are allowed to store and age your beer and/or spirit in these barrels and give them another generous life and your allowed to market the story of your product but you are NOT ALLOWED to mention any brand(s) that formerly housed amazing wine in these wonderful barrels.
These casks can be used or on-sold. Under no circumstances are customers allowed to leverage or use the Lark name or branding in their marketing without prior written permission from Lark Distilling PTY LTD.
About Lark Whisky:
Fresh water sphagnum peat is mined from Lark’s own peat bog in the Tasmanian Highlands, transported to the distillery, and used every day to smoke our Australian sourced barley - which we use to brew our own wash on site. Oak casks are individually selected from Australia’s finest fortified producers to age our single malt spirit.
