Crisp Naked Oat Malt has become a stalwart of the NEIPA recipe. Crisp naturally malt naked oats to increase potential extract.  Crisp Naked Oat Malt gives a lovely creaminess and mouthfeel in all styles of beer and is especially suited to juicy hop bombs and heavy beers. They also impart a toasted, biscuit aroma and palate.

Crisp Naked Oat malt when mixed with barley malt can improve mouthfeel and introduce notes of a toasted, biscuity aroma and palate.

Oats are high in β-glucan and for both brewing and baking uses naked oat malt can contribute beta-glucans (soluble fibre) to add an extra, health-promoting property.

Crisp Malting Group produces a range of special malted products from an assortment of cereals, including wheat, naked oats and rye.

These products have a range of special attributes that provide the brewer with unique opportunities to develop distinctive beers with that “little extra something”.  In brewing, when mixed with barley malt, naked oats malt can improve mouthfeel and introduce notes of a toasted, biscuity aroma and palate.

Perfect for a hazy IPA

I used 30% naked oats in my hazy IPA with 70% maris otter, and the colour and haze were absolutely spot on. Not only did ity look amazing when I first kegged the beer, but the haze remained all the way through for weeks and is still hazy as I write this about 3 weeks after kegging. They also add a subtle sweetness to the beer which works really well.

This will be my go to source of oats for all my hazy IPAs from now on!!!
