Bulk Fermentation Power — Built for the Serious Distiller
Engineered for craft distillers and high-volume operations, the Impressence NextGen Turbo Yeast 1.5kg Bulk Pack provides the purity, yield, and control required for commercial neutral spirit production. Designed as a direct, high-performance alternative to standard commercial turbo yeasts, this blend delivers exceptionally clean sugar washes with minimal fusel oil production.
Built for Commercial Precision & Customization
- Separate Component Packaging: Active yeast (500g) and nutrient (1kg) are packed separately in this 1.5kg kit — guaranteeing maximum shelf life and preventing premature nutrient-yeast reaction prior to pitching.
- Flexible Dosing Control: While calibrated for standard high-gravity or high-volume clean washes, the separated format allows head distillers to fine-tune nutrient-to-yeast ratios to suit specific gravity targets, wash volumes, and substrate profiles. Yeast and nutrient components can also be supplied individually upon request.
- Reduced Downstream Processing: Formulated with high-tolerance neutral yeast strains and built-in pH buffers to minimise osmotic stress, reducing off-flavours and cutting down processing time through carbon filtering and rectification.
Key Features
- Pack contents: 500g active yeast + 1kg nutrient, packed separately
- High alcohol tolerance — capable of fermenting to 20%+ ABV under optimal conditions
- Fast fermentation — active fermentation typically completes within 24–48 hours
- Low fusel alcohol production — cleaner spirit with less post-distillation polishing required
- Optimal fermentation temperature: 20–25°C
- Built-in pH buffers — minimises osmotic stress for consistent, predictable fermentation
Application & Pitching Instructions
- Prepare Wash: Dissolve the required dextrose in hot water, then top up with cold water to your target volume.
- Temperature Control: Ensure the wash temperature is stabilised at 20–25°C before pitching.
- Pitching: Add both the NextGen Yeast and Nutrient components directly into the wash and mix thoroughly.
- Check Gravity: Confirm fermentation is complete with a hydrometer before distilling.
- Distillery Optimisation: Commercial operations are encouraged to run bench-scale trial washes to adjust pitch rates, sugar additions, and nutrient ratios for optimal fermentation velocity and sensory targets.
Dosage
- Individual yeast and nutrient components available separately upon request
- Fine-tune yeast/nutrient ratio to suit your specific gravity, wash volume, and substrate profile
Specifications & Storage
- Net Weight: 1.5kg total (yeast and nutrient packed separately)
- Optimal Fermentation Temp: 20–25°C
- Storage: Store unopened in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended after opening to preserve yeast viability.
Commercial Dosing Guidance (g/hL)
| Target Profile | Target ABV | Standard Dosage Rate | Sugar Requirement (Dextrose) | Recommended Volume |
| High Gravity / High Yield | Up to 20% ABV | 720 g/hL (7.2 g/L) | 37 kg/hL | Maximize yield per vessel in 7–10 days |
| Super Clean / Low Stress | Up to 10% ABV | 360 g/hL (3.6 g/L) | 18.5 kg/hL | Minimizes stress for ultra-pure neutral bases |
Note: Dosage rate refers to the combined total weight of yeast and nutrient (at standard 1:2 pack ratio).
