1st Life:

These barrels started their life as wine barrels in the world-famous Barossa Valley where they held Barossa red wine for a number of years.

2nd Life:

In their second life, they were used to hold and mature some of the country’s most celebrated Tawney (Port) for many years.

3rd Life:

After they had served their time maturing sweet fortified Tawny, they were sent down to the Tasmanian Cask Company where they were hand coopered into smaller barrels for a local whisky producer, along with receiving a shave and generous charr. In their 3^rd life, they held and matured Tasmanian whisky from a producer that has won the highest awards locally and internationally for their whisky.

4th Life:

These barrels are now looking for their 4^th home.  Our Search is Your Satisfaction! Can you look after these barrels and store your own precious clean or sour beer or spirit?

Fresh Jack | IPA | Fresh Wort Kit is a hat tip is to the founders and brewers of Deschutes' for bringing the world Fresh Squeezed IPA and more importantly sharing with humble homebrewers like us and you how to have a crack at brewing your own at home. We did take a lot from their hopping regime, however we did not fully replicate their malt bill opting to tip our hat to someone else we admire for sharing his knowledge of how to brew great beer, so we opted for a malt bill not dissimilar to the one used by Matt Brynildson at Firestone Walker in his Union Jack IPA.

Saphir is a very fine aroma variety, with average bitter value and storage characteristics. It was developed at the Hop Research Center in Hüll, Germany and released in 2002.  Brewing characteristics include sweet citrus aromas with hints of tangerine.
